Based on years of experience we offer technical, trade-based consultancy for custodians of older buildings, particularly with stone restoration.
As a stonemason and former member of the team at Bondi Stone, Richard has worked with organisations such as The Historic Houses Trust, NSW National Parks and The Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority on Heritage sites around Sydney. He has also worked on the restoration of The GPO Sydney and other significant buildings whilst with Gosford Quarries.
The use of traditional lime mortar has had a renaissance in the last decade and it is something we like to encourage, especially in stone restoration work. Through membership of The Building Limes Forum (UK) we maintain an interest in technical developments and research in this area.
We offer a regular inspection and maintenance service for Churches and Heritage properties, where we inspect the fabric and carry out small jobs such as cleaning gutters, repairing flashings and point small holes etc.
We also have experience in the use of the Westox Cocoon salt removal poultice, and can carry out small brickwork repairs that have been damaged by salt attack.
We have worked on many Historic Sites and Heritage listed buildings over the years.
These include
- Wangaratta Anglican Cathedral
- Adelong Falls Goldfield site
- Hermits Cave, Griffith
- St Brigid’s Church, Breadalbane
- St Bartholomew’s Church, Collector
- All Saints Church, Tumut
- Best Family Cemetery, Wagga Wagga
and many privately owned Heritage Properties.
